I've got a vacation to use this spring and I want to see some of Lassen. Does anyone have any ideas? Favorites?

To my knowledge, there aren't any off road routes to ride in Lassen Park. The only road is Hwy 89 where it passes through the park. It is beautiful to ride through, but that's it.

Wow, not even Forest Service roads? It's a beautiful area.

Well, they are pretty much into "man is from mars and shouldn't step foot anywhere". There are lots of hiking trails and I suppose that's good, but there is not much in back roads for motorcycles. You can skirt around the out edges of the park. I know there is a road the skirts the west side, it runs from Hwy 44 to Hwy 36. You can ride FS roads on the east side off A21 and perhaps there are some interesting roads from the Chester area, but that's it as far as I know.
Actually, I like the way the park is handled, I plan to try some hiking there this summer for the first time.

I hope I didn't mislead you by not mentioning that you can ride through the park on Hwy 89, paved the entire way through. Speed limits are 35 and 45. It is a beautiful ride.

Thanks for the information. I live in Oregon, and I've wanted to ride that area, but wasn't sure where.

Wow, I haven't checked in for a while... 4 months late, but...

Anyways, I live in Shingletown, and there is a lot of good riding around here in you have plates... just not in the Lassen Park boundaries...
